Irene Mbilinyi joined TMRC in March 2018 from Exim Bank (T) Ltd where she worked for 5 years as Internal Audit Manager. She has over 17 years’ experience in internal auditing, with substantial knowledge of risk management, corporate governance, and internal control systems in financial institutions. Ms. Irene holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accountancy from the University of Dar es Salaam and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Mzumbe University, Tanzania.

She is also a Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) registered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors Tanzania (NBAA). Further, she is a graduate of the Female Future Programme in Tanzania where she was well equipped with Board Competence, Leadership Skills and Rhetoric knowledge for Board Members and Executive Management. She also attended the Housing Finance Course for Sub-Saharan Africa from the University of Capetown in collaboration with the Centre for Affordable Housing.

Currently, Irene is serving as a member of the Advocacy and Legislation Committee of the Institute of Internal Auditors Tanzania from September 2023.
